Cape Leveque

Shortly before leaving Broome, Dane took us on an overnight trip to Cape Leveque, which is one of those places so amazing, it’s hard to believe I had never even heard of it until I was actually half way there. Yes, it’s out of the way and you really need a 4WD to get there, but it looks like something from another planet (in a good way).

The Kooljaman resort (which I wrote about here) is run by the local Aboriginal communities and is pretty expensive – despite the fact that we dodged the deluxe ensuite safari tents for a slightly more basic beach hut. We didn’t do  whole lot – man catch fish, sunset, BBQ on the beach – and off we we went back to Broome – but it was a beautiful detour.
